Repair Monitor Form

We will be using the Stokesley and Villages Repair Cafe’s Repair Monitor Form – description.

It is important that all visitors accept the disclaimer on the back.

All the details are inserted on the front, with a Reference number written in once the item has been recorded on the check-in forms.

Logistics

This is a general overall logistics summary for everyone – repeat of Saturday 27th’s email.

You will should have received a personalised email with your individual schedules based on the form you filled out and any subsequent changes & who you will be on shift with, so please reach out via the WhatsApp group if you want to get to know each other or discuss how to work together e.g. sharing equipment.

For morning sessions, please arrive at the Bothy Gallery by 10:30 a.m. to allow time for setup and the 10:45 a.m. briefing.

For afternoon sessions, please arrive at the Bothy Gallery by 1:30 p.m. to allow time for setup and the 1:45 p.m. briefing.

While the timings are set, this doesn’t mean you must repair for the entire duration; you can agree with your fellow repairers on how to cover the slot.

Final joining instructions will sent out Thursday 2nd or Friday 3rd and I have scheduled a Zoom for 7pm on Wednesday evening to go through the Repair Cafe and allow time for questions. Email repaircafe@casav.uk if you need the Zoom link also in WhatsApp Community Info.

We are in the Bothy Gallery of the Kirkleatham Walled Garden (follow signs to Allotment Patch).

If you are coming by car, fill out both halves of the car parking pass (on WhatsApp) and bring it with you.

Car parking: Follow the Festival of Thrift Car Parking signs; it is about a 15 minute walk from the Bothy Gallery.

Equipment Drop-off: Ideally before 10 a.m. at the Walled Garden Car Park close to the Walled Garden entrance. Drop-off is possible at other times to the Walled Garden Car Park, but you cannot leave your car there while transporting items to the Bothy Gallery. All cars must be parked in the main car park, which is probably a 10-minute drive on the day.

Where are we going to be?

In the Bothy Gallery within the Kirkleatham Walled Garden.

The Allotment Patch will be the area to follow signs to during the Festival of Thrift.

Access to this site is via Kirkleatham Walled Garden, Plantation Rd, Kirkleatham, Redcar TS10 4AS. What Three Words – ///dogs.pink.shorts

We are going to use one door of the Bothy Gallery as an entrance and the other as an exit. Repairers are going to be on the wall side of the table with item owners sat on the other side.

The gallery is wide enough for a passage for people to walk through the Repair Cafe and look at what’s going on. We will need to manage flow a bit as space is not unlimited.

Set-up Friday 3rd 10am – 3pm / Saturday 4th 8am – 11am (vehicle access upto 10am)

Festival of Thrift Opening Times – 4th – 5th July 11am – 5pm

Donations

All efforts to repair items, show people how to repair and even how to run their own repair cafe are free, with donations being accepted to:

Cover any costs of running the repair cafe
Reimburse repairers consumable costs
Any remainder will be split across all the represented repair cafes roughly proportionally to repairers involved. Repair cafes use their funds:
- run their repair cafes
- support repair and other environmental activities
