In the autumn lots of apples can go to waste as people don’t have the time to use them. Why not turn them into delicious apple juice or cider?
Apple pressing 2025
This year, CASaV will be running a couple of public apple pressing sessions in Faceby. The sessions are a bit earlier than usual due to the weather this summer.
- 14th September: postponed
- 10th October: 30 minute slots available to book from 10am, with last slot starting at 2:30pm full
For further information, contact Caryn Loftus tel. 0777 3048250 or email.
We no longer loan out our equipment for use elsewhere.
There is a suggested contribution of £5 per slot to cover costs and you will need to bring your own bottles.
If you would like to help run the sessions please get in touch.
Background
In the past, Moor Sustainable CIC ran a number of apple pressing events in the area and also loaned out the equipment. The Directors of Moor Sustainable decided to wind up the company at the end of March 2022 due to a change in focus of the Directors. Therefore, the apple pressing equipment needed a new home.
Thanks to a donation, CASaV now owns the equipment and run several apple pressing events in the autumn at Faceby.
Moor Sustainable CIC produced a video showing how to use the main pieces of equipment.
